STANTON - Pearl Brenda Irene Cheyney, age 84, of Stanton, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Stanton Health Center in Stanton. She was born June 5, 1927, in Norwich, England, the daughter of William and Emma (Munford) Savage, and obtained her education through high school in Norwich, England.
Pearl married Donald Cheyney on Oct. 14, 1944, at Norwich, England. The couple moved to Stanton and Pearl worked for the Norfolk Regional Center for 5 years. She worked for 26 years as a nurses aid and housekeeper at Stanton Health Center, retiring in 1999. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Stanton and entered the Stanton Health Center in September 2011. Pearl's hobbies include knitting and word searches.
Survivors include her six children, Pat Ober and her special friend, Gregg Hausmann, of Norfolk; Carol and Darrell Morrow, of Milford; David and Gail Cheyney, of Fernwood, Idaho; Keith and Collette Cheyney, of Stanton; Debra and Dave Pavel, of Columbus; Marty and Karri Cheyney, of Stanton; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; three step-great great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Kicks, of Norwich, England.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one child, one grandson, one son-in-law, one sister, four brothers and one brother-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Stanton, Saturday June 2, 2012, at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will be in the Stanton Cemetery in Stanton.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Shultz-Vogel-Johnson Mortuary in Stanton with reverend James Bendorf officiating.
