Dale Cox Obituary

Dale W. Cox

Germantown, TN

Mr. Dale W. Cox, co-founder and CEO of Memphis-based Good Advertising passed away after a brave struggle with cancer. Mr. Cox was 74 years old and leaves behind his wife, Ellen Isaacman Cox; three children, Julie, Brian, and David Cox, three grandchildren, Forrest, Grace, and Ethan, and a godson, Kris Ostvoll.

His long career in marketing and sales began at Silver Dollar City, in Missouri, the Aircraft Sales Division of Memphis Aero, in Memphis, and in 1982 he co-founded Good Advertising with his wife, Ellen, and partner, Barney Street. Good Advertising is a full-service Memphis advertising agency which, over the years, has handled clients like Malone and Hyde, Federal Express, Memphis ZOO, and Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation. An avid photographer and woodworker, Dale was an accomplished Master craftsman and leader in the Memphis Camera Club. He sold many of his photographs in support of worthy causes, including the Memphis Child Advocacy Center. Mr. Cox graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Dale was an exceptionally good man - caring, thoughtful, and loving to all whom he came in contact with. He rarely encountered a broken thing he couldn't fix and loved to go on long road trips with Ellen.

The family requests that donations be made to the Memphis Advocacy Center or the Dale Cox Memorial Fund at the Memphis Camera Club.

A Memorial Service will be held at Memphis Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue, Thursday afternoon at 5 p.m.

Dale you were a very humble and kind man. I loved talking to you on varied subjects from photography to world politics. My brief interaction with you left an indelible mark on me of humility and humbleness that you always displayed. Your neighbor... I will always miss you.
