Dianne McGrory Obituary

DIANNE McCULLAR McGRORY, God's faithful servant, was called home on September 28, 2006. Dianne used the talents God gave her everyday. Her calm inviting spirit and nature touched everyone she met. Her story is one of strength through adversity and abounding love. She was born Dianne Ywain Phillips on December 2, 1960, to the late Bobby Phillips of Henderson and Ywain Phillips of Manchester. She grew up in Memphis, TN, loving to ride horses and graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1978. Dianne was married to the late Randy McCullar until his passing in 2000. Together they had three wonderful sons, Ben, Kyle and Ryan. Dianne was always the boy's biggest fan and watched every Houston High School Baseball and Football game while being active in each and every booster club. It was through this active participation that she met and fell in love with her husband, Tommy McGrory. Tommy and Dianne were married in 2003 within a few days of her diagnosis. Dianne's family and friends so often have noted in wonderment the love between these two people and their dedication to one another. She never complained or gave up when her illness would have grounded anyone else and she always knew Tommy was by her side. She was fiercely loyal and determined to be her best and see the best in everyone. Dianne helped others to stop and realize each day was significant. With per passing, there is a gaping hole not only in the home she shared with Tommy, Ben, Kyle, Ryan and Cassie, but in the lives of everyone who loved her. Dianne leaves her mother, Ywain Phillips; her husband, Tommy McGrory; her sons, Ben McCullar, Kyle McCullar and Ryan McCullar; Tommy's daughters, Cassie, Shannon and Meghan; a brother, David Phillips; two sisters, Donna Tilley and Debra Banks, a host of McGrorys and loving friends. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, September 30 at Memphis Funeral Home, Germantown Parkway Chapel. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 1 at Grace Evangelical Church at 9750 Wolf River Blvd., Germantown, TN 38139. Burial will be in Memory Hill Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated for the boy's education fund and may be made to: Belinda Howell ITF McCullar Family, P.O. Box 587, Arlington, TN 38003-0587. I know how special she was to my brother and I feel so lucky to have met them both. Now 16 years lated everyone has went to the Lord, and I am sure my Mother is taking care of Dianne, Randy and Button. What a beautiful place Heaven must be. Dianne you will be missed.

Dianne and I grew up across the street from each other. I was the fifth child. We did everything together sleepovers, hangin out, and vacations. Dianne was my friend and my sister. God may have needed you to be an angel in heaven. But we all know that you were an angel here on earth. Your beauty and kindness will live on with every memory, thought and mention of your name. Thank you for letting me be part of your life. I love you and will miss you always.
