Remembering Jeff as 10 years has passed. I picture him with a complete sketch book chronicling all the interesting celestial birds and what locations in Heaven he went to to spot them! Jeff was a good man and we miss and honor his memory.

I did not know Jeff but a mutual friend sent me word for my Mom, 91 year old Dot Crawford. She is so saddened to learn of Jeff's passing. I have heard many stories of her and Dad's travels with Jeff, especially a trip to Mexico. And years ago I made last minute plane reservations and car rental for them to fly to Memphis and drive to Pickwick Dam to see a rare gull Jeff had found. Mom sends her heartfelt sympathy.

Jeff always shared his wonderful knowledge of birds with others. I was in his company on Dauphin Island, AL many times and learned something every time. May he rest in peace. God bless his family.

We are birding friends from Alabama and met Jeff on Dauphin Island many times. He found us two magnificent peregrine falcons including one sitting on the ground in Memphis. We joked a lot with him and will really miss him.

"Ol Coot" was one of my favorite characters in AOS. I met him in The Shell Mounds on Dauphin Island, AL while birding. He was one of the most entertaining "birds." Rest in peace, Jeff.

Jeff was an Ol' Coot alright - the best Ol' Coot I ever knew. He was one of my first bosses, teaching me how to hang sheet rock no less. Jeff was even-tempered and always had an observation that made me both think and giggle at the same time. His bird watching prowess made him the sharpest eye in observing the condition of everything from building finishes to feelings or spirit. He was a positive influence to everyone around him and will be missed by all his old friends at Cooper Realty Company and Cooper Hotels.
With deep sympathies,
Pace

I met Mr. Wilson on Christmas Day 2000 when I found a Snow Bunting in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He drove from Memphis despite the impending ice storm and brutally cold winds to see the bird. He showed his appreciation so eloquently in an entry on ARBIRDS, that I copied and have to this day. I was saddened to hear of his passing, but I know he is now continuing his work in a place with birds that we can no longer find here on earth.
