Joycelyn Himel Samanie Obituary
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 and from 8 a.m. until service time Friday, Dec. 7 at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma. A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II.
She is survived by her two children, Michael (Charlene) Samanie and Deborah (Freddie Jr.) Naquin; brother, Earl Himel; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Bobby) Rochel, Bridget (Hubert) Mabe, Kelly (Daniel) Conner, Mindy (Ricky) Babin, Nichole (Steve Jr.) Wanko, Jamie (Justin) Adams and Lauren (Kevin) Hand; 15 great-grandchildren, Sadie (Clark) Bergeron, Joseph, Julie and James Mabe, Macy, Lacy and Jeremy Conner, Trey, Beau and Brock Wanko, Nathan and Leah Adams, Jolie, Charlotte and Oliver Hand; and one great-great-grandchild, Triston Bergeron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Joseph "WJ" Samanie; parents, Harry and Lucille Himel; four siblings, Lionel, Ralph, Marian and Doris Himel.
She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

I loved her so! Everyday we would chat and laugh about something. The last time we spoke she fussed me for not having a jacket on when I brought her outside. Of course she was smiling when she said it. We had a very special connection that I'll always remember. Love you, Ms. Joycelyn

Such a special lady! We had a special connection that I'll always remember. Everyday we would chat and laugh about something. The last day we spoke she fussed me for being outside without a jacket! I looked out for her and she looked after me! I will miss her and cherish the memories. Love you Ms. Joycelyn
