There are no words to say to make this any easier for you or Ari. But after reading many of the condolences and hearing various stories at work, I hope that you find comfort in knowing that Josh left his "footprint" while he was on this earth. I first met him on Solid Tumor at St. Jude while "floating" in orientation, then blessed to have him on our team on transplant. He was a great leader, and a tremendous asset to St. Jude. I won't ever see a Batman logo without thinking of him. I missed his smile and "Good morning" today.........he always spread happiness wherever he went. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and Ari. I'm not sure if I have ever known someone to bring so much passion, intelligence, and humor to life's moments, whether big or small, like Josh did. Few people will inspire change within you and change your attitude toward man in such a positive way. For me, he was one of those people. There was strength and confidence in his kindness. No moment was ever dull. He was an amazing conversationalist.

Josh had a love for life, a love for his family and a love for others that was apparent from the moment I met Josh. When I got to work along side him, I could always count on a good laugh, a hilarious Ari story or hearing plans of yall's next family adventure. Josh had the most unique gift to make anyone smile or laugh! Whether it was the patients he was taking care of or the nurses he was working with that night, he always knew how to make us laugh and have a good time. Working alongside Josh for two years at St Jude, I always knew I could rely on him if I ever needed an extra hand or two. He would always be the first to volunteer. He will be missed by so many people. Nicole & Ari, may the Lord cover you with His peace and love and comfort during this time. Josh loved you both so very much. Wow, where do I even begin? I worked nights with Josh at St. Jude. From his first nigh at work, he blew into our hearts never to be forgotten. Our families became fast friend because Josh would have it no other way. His appetite for life, his adoration for Nicole, and his deep heart felt love for Ari was truly beyond anything I've ever seen. Your constant humor and jokes made each long night bearable. Josh, my dear friend, your time on earth was cut way to short. We will never understand why but rest easy in the fact that your friends and co-workers from St. Jude will take care of your believed wife and son. Until we meet again.....

Nicole, I am overwhelmed with sadness upon hearing this news. I had only just met your husband two months ago. Just during those ten minutes of meeting him, I was so touched by his warm spirit, and easy going and compassionate nature. His first impression was of a humble, caring, and gracious man. I did not know Josh; but I didn't have to. His warm heart and goodness illuminate his smile and eyes. When a young person so full of love and compassion is lost, those left behind are left with aching hearts. I have seen it written that grief is love with nowhere to go. Never before have I met a man with such a lust for life and family. He was always talking about the time he was planning to spend with Nicole and especially Ari. Josh and I worked nights together, and he would pull marathon waking hours, often times only taking catnaps in parking lots between activities, because - in his words- he wanted to spend as much time with Ari and Nicole as possible. Josh's dedication to family and friends was unparallelled and I count myself blessed to be among the lucky people who can say that he was my friend. You can't have met Josh without having been changed for the better.
