KEVIN R. Bezon

Kevin R. Bezon departed this life on January 1, 2015. He was born in Youngstown, OH on May 27, 1985 to the late Maureen Hannah Bezon and Ronald F. Bezon with whom he lived with in Memphis since 2001. In addition to his parents Kevin had two half-brothers, Jon Bezon of Adrian, MI and Jim English of Lakewood, OH. He also had four half-sisters, Jodi Schmidt of Macedonia, OH, Jill Mason of Vass, NC, Jennifer Eid of Fairfax, VA and Monica English (deceased). Kevin had a malignant brain tumor removed when he was eleven months old and 15 other brain tumors throughout his life. He made remarkable recovery from these surgeries and was very active in sports. He played baseball, basketball, enjoyed swimming, bowling and had a passion for golf. Kevin was also an Elvis Tribute Artist and would do concerts, dressed to the nines as Elvis, at nursing homes and rehab centers in Memphis. Kevin was a St. Jude Children’s Hospital patient since 1986 and when he was twenty-eight years old he raised over $700,000 “to help the sick children at St. Jude Hospital”. For this feat he received a Danny’s Warrior Trophy from St. Jude Hospital which he treasured. He also served as a volunteer at St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen for more than a decade and loved working with the poor and homeless and interacting with other volunteers. Kevin graduated from the St. Benedict Academy, Sister Ruth Ann Program. His smile and way of “lighting up a room” will be greatly missed but his spirit of generosity and inspiration to others will continue on. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the above hospital and charity. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 10 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 155 Market St., Memphis, TN 38105, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. After the burial, there will be a reception in the Parish Hall of St. Mary’s
