MARK EDWARDS Obituary

Mark F. “Chico” Edwards died April 1, 2015. He was born August 7, 1955 in Akron Ohio. At age 13, his family moved to Union City TN where he graduated from Union City High School in 1973. Mark then graduated from UT Martin where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Mark continued to live in West Tennessee and has been in Memphis for the last 23 years. He worked in the road building business for over 30 years working for Road Builders Equipment Co., Thompson Machinery and most recently for Heavy Machines, Inc. He lived life large and was always entertaining ones around him. He loved golf, sports cars, sporting events, his Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. More than anything else he absolutely loved being around his friends and they loved being with him. He would light up the room, the golf course or anywhere else he happened to be. His proudest moment was when his son Blake was born. Mark’s last weeks were spent with so many of his friends coming by to share a story of the past and have a laugh over many of his escapades of his early years. Many thanks go out to Joanne Pederson, Ed Roberts, Ron Marshall, Tom and Dena Williams, Steve Vanderburg, his cousin Cynthia Terry, Kim King and all of his fellow ATO brothers and friends that helped make his last month’s possible to be cared for in the comfort of his home surrounded with all of those who loved him. He is survived by his son, Blake Edwards and Blake’s mother, Kim Mostellar King. He was preceded in death by his parents Stan Edwards and Lois Fouts. A Celebration of his Life will be at Villa Castrioti’s on Sunday April 19, 2015 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to contribute memorials to Mark may contribute to the Blake Edward’s Education Fund at Renasant Bank, 796 West Poplar Ave., Collierville, TN 38017.

Just heard of Mark's passing and glad we were able to spend a few hours laughing about the past last month and having spent time together in Florida after both of us left Union City. He will be missed. Our deepest sympathies.

Sorry to hear of Mark's passing. I remember him as a fun loving boy and young gentleman. New his parents well and worked and played golf with his father Stan. Loved Lois.

Just heard of Mark's passing today. We were just talking of him last week remembering fun times on the golf course at Goodyear and Poplar Meadows in Union City. Wish we could have kept him here in our small town, but we were too small to hold that big personality. He will always be remembered fondly.
