PETER G. ROE

Peter G. Roe, 68, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014. He was born May 14, 1946 in Huntingdon, England to Joseph G. Roe and Muriel J. (Horne) Roe. He was raised in Belleville, KS and graduated from Belleville H.S. in 1964. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1964 and retired after 20 years of service. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1985 until his retirement in 2011. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 7175 Millington, TN, the Military Order of the Cootie Pup Tent #26 serving one term as “Seam Squirrel” (Commander) and one term as TN State Grand Commander. He was also a member of Fleet Reserve Assn. Branch #86 Millington, TN and served two terms as President. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lila M. Roe, sons Peter G. Roe Jr., Paul B. Roe (Carla), daughter Margo M. Roe, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother Keith A. Roe (Delores) and two sisters, Bernadette M. Rowland (Gordon) and Sylvia A. Reaser. He also leaves a host of family and friends to cherish his life and legacy. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday August 15th at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
