To all of Sara's family. Don & I loved her dearly. She sang at our wedding 8/21/1956 & came to our 50th anniv. We did not know she was ill or we would have gone to see her. I am in a cast with a broken bone in my foot & am not able to get out or we would have been there. I feel like I've lost a sister. We both lived on Kent St. back in the early 50's.

Dear Trey, Teresa, Phillip and Alison,
I love you all. Many of my earliest memories include you and Aunt Sara. I always recall her as beauty, gentleness and grace, but of course she was determination and strength as well. What a wonderful lady and what an interesting life. There isn’t much I could say to comfort you but I will make this observation. She was first and foremost a noble mother and the protector of her brood. She looked over you, guided you and yet let you live and grow. And her legacy is reflected in your countenance. You are all such great and wonderful people. By looking at you, people will see her handiwork. You are the ultimate compliment to her and the complete fulfillment of all her hopes and dreams. What a wonderful life.
Love always,
Louis

Sara was truly a gracious and lovely southern lady. She mentored many of us during Carnival within the Krewe of Ennead. She was a "special person" to all who knew and loved her. She will be missed.
