I worked with Dr. Hixson for over 12 years. He was always a gentleman, a caring physician, and a superb example for others. There was always a quiet peace about him. We shared a love of Christ. May his family find comfort in Dr. Hixson's legacy.

Doug was a great man. My family had the privilege of knowing him and his family thru Germantown Troop 64 Boy Scouts of America. He was a devoted Scout Leader,Father,Husband,Christian and Physician . His selflessness and humility set great examples for all of the scouts whose lives he touched. My two sons and I spent much time camping with him and his son Doug at KiaKima summer camps and Philmont Scout Ranch and Troop 64 outings. He was a diligent scout who always upheld the scout oath and law. All of the Boys and men had great respect for him and the example he set for us.I will miss him but always cherish our scouting days with our boys-the best days of my life. I know how much he loved his own family and his scouting family also. Thanks Doug for the legacy you leave.
