Dr. Hixson performed surgery on me shortly after I was born almost 38 yrs ago. I still think about how God worked through him to help me. I am forever grateful.

I worked with Dr. Hixson for over 12 years. He was always a gentleman, a caring physician, and a superb example for others. There was always a quiet peace about him. We shared a love of Christ. May his family find comfort in Dr. Hixson's legacy.

A great man, physician and a true Christian. Have never met anyone who was such an inspiration, led by example and such strong faith. Felt lucky to have met him, and honored to work beside him on many occasions. He will be so missed. Prayers to his family.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Hixson's passing. I worked with him at LeBonheur for 30 years and he was such a great doctor and man. He was so compassionate with his patients, families and the staff. He leaves behind such big shoes to fill. He loved the Lord and I know he is praising the Lord today. My prayers go out to his family, he will be missed.

Doug was a great man. My family had the privilege of knowing him and his family thru Germantown Troop 64 Boy Scouts of America. He was a devoted Scout Leader,Father,Husband,Christian and Physician . His selflessness and humility set great examples for all of the scouts whose lives he touched. My two sons and I spent much time camping with him and his son Doug at KiaKima summer camps and Philmont Scout Ranch and Troop 64 outings. He was a diligent scout who always upheld the scout oath and law. All of the Boys and men had great respect for him and the example he set for us.I will miss him but always cherish our scouting days with our boys-the best days of my life. I know how much he loved his own family and his scouting family also. Thanks Doug for the legacy you leave.
