C. Reynolds Obituary

BOW - C. Christine Reynolds, 93, formerly of Birchdale Road, died peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Merrimack County Nursing Home after a short illness.

She was born in Holswothy, England the daughter of the late John and Rosa E. (Hines) Tozer. Christine and her family immigrated to the United States in 1952, with a goal of providing a better life for their children. The family resided in Weare, and enjoyed a summer cottage on Suncook Lake for many years.

She was employed by the State of New Hampshire for over 30 years at the NH State Hospital as a Supervisor of the Laundry Department. After retiring from the State she worked part-time at Concord Racquet Club as a Nursery Supervisor. There she was "Nanny" to all the children.

Christine was an excellent cook, specializing in English dishes such as Cornish Pasties, mincemeat pies and rich chocolate desserts. She was in her element during the holidays when she routinely hosted her family and friends for a meal. She enjoyed traveling, especially in their motorhome. She and her husband loved animals and their pets were thoroughly indulged. Christine loved knitting and could often be found in her favorite chair knitting sweaters, hats and mittens for her grandchildren. Christine and her husband loved York Beach as it reminded them of their homeland. For many years she summered at Libbys Campground at York Beach, and was sadly missed by her campground friends when failing health prohibited her from returning.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis M. Reynolds; and two sisters, Joyce Goodwin and Pauline Brown both of England.

She is survived by her three children, Gloria McAllister and husband Leo, of Boscawen, David Reynolds and wife Nela, of Bow and John Reynolds and wife Donna, of York, Maine; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Barbara Knox of Weare, and a brother ,Leonard Tozer of Bude, England.
