Carolyn Poisson Obituary

FRANKLIN – Carolyn "Kandi" Poisson, 67, of 76 Elm Ave., died at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston, on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, surrounded by her family. Kandi's strength and determination in the fight against cancer started in the fall of 2013. Her always positive and upbeat attitude lasted throughout the 14-month battle ending on Christmas Day.
Kandi was born on June 21, 1947, in Franklin, daughter of the late Roland and Dorothy (Akerman) Libby, and was a longtime resident of the Hill and Bristol area before moving to Franklin in 1968. She was a graduate of Newfound Memorial High School and attended the University of New Hampshire, Durham.
After her children were school-aged, Kandi managed clothing stores in downtown Franklin. Formerly a cheerleader in high school, Kandi enjoyed coaching cheerleading in the Franklin and Winnisquam school districts. Kandi's creative gift of interior decorating was generously shared with family and friends, but her most enjoyable and epic decorating was of the family home for the Christmas season.
Kandi was passionately devoted to her family. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, David Poisson, of Franklin; their children, Gina Re Poisson of Concord and Timothy Poisson of Somerville, Mass.; her sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Blythe Morrison of Dover; nephews; nieces; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Thibeault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. Interment will take place in the spring.
The family requests no flowers. Donations made in her memory may be made to the Fixit Program Endowment Fund, PO Box 1016, Concord, 03302.
Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, is assisting the family with the arrangements. For more information and to view an online memorial go to wilkinsonbeane.com.

Kandi and Dave, thank you for the many years you have spent beautifying Franklin with your teamwork on your home renovations. I have long made an annual pilgrimage by your house to see your Christmas lights. Kandi had an incorrible urge to beautify things. No corner was left untouched by her hand and her spirit. Thank you to both of you for your many kindnesses over the years as good neighbors.

Dear Dave, Gina, and Tim,

It was with sadness that I read that Kandi has died. It has been many years since I last saw Kandi as I moved from Franklin. She was such a beautiful woman, having beauty within as well as on the outside. She was always willing to help and assist people, willing to share her ideas and skills.

One of the times that come quickly to mind was her love of the Christmas season. When I was looking for ideas for cheerleading one year, she invited me up to the house. It was not hard to miss it as it was the most beautifully decorated house using white lights. My breath was taken away.

I pray that God blesses you and that your faith bolsters you throughout your lives until the day He brings all his faithful together in everlasting life.

May the peace of Christ be with you now and forever.

Sincerely,

December 29, 2014

So sad to hear this. I am remembering a birthday gift she once gave to me-a delightful afternoon, doily-laced, flower-filled and friendship -celebrated in her perfectly decorated gazebo. Excess was not enough for Kandi in her efforts to please others.
Rest in Peace, Friend.
