Charles Brown Obituary

Charles L. Brown, III

Pembroke, NH - Charles L. Brown III, 74, of Pembroke, peacefully passed away on March, 6, 2025, surrounded by his family. Charlie was born on September 14, 1950, in Concord, New Hampshire, son of Charles and Mildred (Sanborn) Brown. Charlie attended Concord High School and was a graduate of Merrimack Valley High School, Class of 1968. He attended New Hampshire College. After college, Charlie went on to work in accounting for the State of New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and retired after 38 years of service. After retirement, he worked for the Grappone Companies for nine years as a swap driver traveling all over New England.

Charlie leaves his beloved wife and soulmate of 47 years of marriage, Cheryl Nolin Brown. They met at J.M. Fields Grocery Store in Concord; she was a cashier and he a front-end manager. Charlie is survived by two wonderful daughters, Jodi Turant and husband Matthew of Concord, and Kelly Brown and husband Jason DeRoche of Pembroke. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Haley Brown, Alison Corriveau, Colby and Matthew DeRoche, and Joshua and Alexander Turant. Charlie is also survived by his sister Pamela Morrill of Concord as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Charlie was predeceased by his parents, his sister Nancy and his loving fur baby pug, Lucy.

Charlie had many interests in life. He loved going for rides with his wife and best friend Cheryl and spending time at their camps on Suncook Lake and Aziscohos Lake. He loved baseball and the Boston Red Sox, NHRA drag racing at New England Dragway, NASCAR racing at NH Motor Speedway, railroading and Lionel trains, taking care of his Ford Mustangs; but most of all, he loved his family. He proudly followed his grandsons' baseball and basketball games. He also loved floating in the lake with a Bud Light and sitting on the swing at the lake for hours with his wife.

Per his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, in Concord, on Tuesday March 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Charlie to the Live and Let Live Farm in Chichester. Charlie and I were in grades one through eight and graduated from MVHS together. Even at a young age, he was always quiet and kind. Condolences to Pam and family. Rest in peace Charlie.
