Charles Provencal Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Provencal

Concord, NH — Charles "Chuck" J. Provencal, 71, died on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA after a brief battle with cancer. Born March 3, 1951 in Concord to the late Maxim and Georgianna (DuPont) Provencal. He was a Concord High School Graduate and attended NHTI. Chuck spent the bulk of his career working for the State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation, retiring as a department head. Following retirement, he held various jobs at Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware and most recently Intralot.

Chuck was full of life. He was known for his great sense of humor and making people laugh. He had a great love for singing and entertaining, having performed since Junior High School. Charlie has performed with Sounds Familiar, The Concord Community Players production and Concord Music Club. Chuck loved being on the golf course with his men's golf league, The Bandits. What Chuck enjoyed the most though was spending time with family and friends, Sunday night football games at the house, summer days at the pool and nights by the fire.

Chuck is survived by his children, Benjamin Provencal and Katherine Hohenberger, son in law, Richard Hohenberger and his girlfriend of 9 years, Donna Warner. He will be remembered as Grandpa Chuck to Donna's grandchildren. Chuck held his friends close and he left behind many friends who he considered family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Debra (Clark) Provencal.

Calling Hours will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord, NH 03301.

So sad to hear this news about Chuck (or Charlie, as I knew him back in high school). I will always remember his beautiful tenor voice in Mr. Gagliuso's choir. My deepest condolences to the family and Donna.

I never spent much time with Chuck but I always liked his personality and enjoyed his company. I was in high school with him and Deb. I remember seeing him sing maybe in a musical and was wowed by his voice. I wish I'd heard more of it. Deepest sympathy to family and to Donna.

The world was a better place with Charlie in it. We were lifelong friends, from high school. He was a very special man - great humor and great talent. He was very devoted to Deb, who also had a wonderful sense of humor! They had two beautiful kids who were central in their lives. How blessed he was to connect with Donna for the remainder of his life. Charlie dear, you will be so very missed. RIP with your sweetheart. Cathy

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Chuck in the hardware department at Home Depot for many years. I enjoyed his pleasant demeanor and missed him when he left the company for his next adventure. May your happy memories of him provide comfort in the years to come. As long as you hold someone in your heart, they are never really gone.
