"Grandpa" You were my buddy and we hung out together every time you came home from visiting "Grandma". We'd watch TV with me in your lap and you'd rub my back and ears. Then we'd sneak into the kitchen for milk and cookies. It was a good time! I miss you and our fun times together.

Dad, ever since we met you accepted me as your daughter and not an "in-law" and that meant a lot to me because I lost my parents when I was younger and you became my "dad". In fact, you insisted I call you "Dad". Even though we met when I was an adult you were an amazing father figure and role model. You gladly welcomed me and my children and grandchildren into the family as if we were your own. You were always there for me no matter what, even though you couldn't hear me sometimes. (LOL) When you lived with us and visiting Mom in the nursing home you'd get up at the crack of dawn and return for your milk and cookies with Ziggles the cat (you thought I didn't know about that did you LOL). I will never forget the time during your later years we were at a restaurant and you ordered a beer with your meal. You were no longer behind the wheel at that age and you replied "What's wrong with that...I'm not driving". We got you back home and you had an enjoyable evening we will all remember. When you learned that I was marrying your son, it was a great honor to have you agree to walk me down the aisle at the wedding. Even though you are no longer with us I will always cherish our memories and the time we spent together. You are now in heaven with God, Mom, and also my parents and I will always love you and keep you close to my heart. I miss you. Good bye, Dad, for now until we meet again in heaven.

Dad, as I grew up I realized you were the smartest man I ever knew and you guided me to be the man I am today. I remember growing up you taught me hard work won't kill me, do my best in everything or don't bother doing it, and to keep a sense of humor. I've always tried to live up to your example. Even though some of our handyman projects had some "glitches" I enjoyed them all. One of my favorite memories of that was when we were both wiring different electrical junction boxes in the attic when I suddenly heard a "bzzzt" and you stated "hmmm I THOUGHT I pulled that fuse..." (LOL). I'll never forget our brief flying career trying gas powered model airplanes. That really was a "flying circus". Recently someone remarked about how I was just like you. I thought that was the best compliment I could ever receive. We sometimes butted heads but you were always there for me, to support and guide me, provide advice, and sometimes just listen. I feel lost without that connection now, but I praise God for blessing me with such a great dad for so long. You are with God and Mom now, but know that you were the best dad I could have ever had and I miss you and I'll love you always.
