Dear Karen,
I just heard the news today and am deeply sorry for your loss. Scotty was my best friend for years and our last conversation was in April. I am going to miss him always, but will remember the funny, good times we had together.
My mother Lorraine, and Angela and Christopher seed you, Karen, our deepest sympathies. God bless you, always.

I met him only one time. He was Mr. Scott to me in the 90s. He was Dave's Dad and even now, 20+ years later I remember thinking how he HAD to be Dave's Dad. He was witty, not easily irritated by our teenage stupidity, smiling and friendly. His son has always been the guy that I think of and smile and, I am sure that Mr. Scott was that same person to many, many people; the one you think of and can't help but smile.
Sincere and heartfelt sympathies to all of you.

I 1st remember meeting Scotty back in the early to mid 1960's.. He was a couple years older than me. I was a frequent fixture in the family home on the corner of Rumford St and Washington streets. We used to build the darnedest "bicycles" with seats that were 8ft off the ground and build "flaming" sailboats for white's park pond. What characters we were.
My sincerest condolances to all.

One of the things when I was a kid that amazed me about my Dad was that we could go into any store in town and it always seemed that everyone there knew my Dad. Cries of "Hey Scotty" ringing through the air. My brother has grown up to be just like him... that same open hearted, good natured, loving kind of man. I remember when he was living in Bear Brook State Park with his friend Dale, neither of them could cook. My brother and I ate a lot of buttered spaghetti ! I remember the sled my Grampy and Dad built so they could pull us through the park snowmobile trails with their snowmobiles. I remember the pigs Karen and he had behind their house... named Pork Chop and Bacon I do believe, only my Dad would name his pigs that, lol ! I remember that my Dad was going to build an underground house and yes, I shot his work truck with the BB gun; though I am sure I blamed it on David. Sorry David. I remember riding in a lawn chair in his work van because there were only two seats and no child restraint laws in effect, hehe. The catfish I kept wrapped in tinfoil for two days because Dad wouldn't make me kill it, when camping was over he helped me release it and by God that fish swam away. My Dad may not have been perfect, he might have had his flaws, but he was and always will be my Dad. He chose me to be his daughter and for that and for all the good memories I have I will forever be grateful. I love you Dad. I will miss you, but I know that some day I will see you again.

Karen,
I just heard about Scotty last evening, it's hard to find words. I have a note in my daytimer to call him today. (15th). I hadn't seen Scotty in at least 20 years and a few months ago he called me out of the blue. We've been in touch, through the phone (I'm in Arkansas) almost every week since then. We had planned to get together in N.H. In June. I'm not much of a phone person but I looked forward to talking to Scotty. We talked of things we did together when we were in our late teens and early twenties. We'd also talk about family and usually what we were doing that day. He seemed to be in the process of going to get firewood or just having done that, on the days we talked. He said he liked sitting by the woodstove. Scotty was a good soul. He was always quick to help me with some project, never asking anything in return. I'm sure that right now, Scotty is in a good place. He earned it. But we'll miss him.

Karen, so sorry to hear about Scotty. He was the best of the true originals. My lasting image of him is standing in the pool smiling from ear to ear. Remember the lawn mower ride he took us on? He will not be forgotten, nor will your love and kindness to him.
