Edward B. Tewksbury Jr.

1932 - 2013

Edward (Tookie) B. Tewksbury Jr., 81, of Concord, died on Monday evening, April 15, 2013, at the Pleasant View Center in Concord, after a courageous battle against Alzheimer's Disease.

He was born on February 10, 1932, in West Lebanon, the son of the late Edward B. Tewksbury Sr. and the late Elyse D. Tewksbury. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of 36 years, Lucille (Teal) E. Tewksbury who passed away on September 27, 2006, and by his brother Richard Tewksbury.

Tookie lived in the Concord area all of his life. He worked for Concord Eagle Cab as a younger man and later worked for the City of Concord's Water Department for 36 years until his retirement in 1992.

Tookie loved going for long rides with his wife, over the back country roads of New Hampshire and Vermont and taking photographs of the special sites along their way. On any given Friday night, you could always find Tookie and Teal having dinner at Skuffy's Restaurant. Tookie also loved puttering around in his basement always building something for someone - that was just the kind of man he was. His kindness and generosity to others will be greatly missed.

Survivors (who he loved as his own) include his great-niece, Donna Gleeson of Gilford; grand-nephews, Tyler Sawyer and Nathan Rabbitt, both of Concord; and many other nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on Monday April 22, at 2 p.m., at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord.
