Frank Bauer Obituary

Frank J. Bauer

Deerfield, NH - Frank J. Bauer passed on February 15, 2024 at the Jack Byrne Hospice in Lebanon, after declining health.

He was born to Fred C and Misako (Seki) Bauer on July 22, 1950 in Yokahama, Japan. After his father, Fred, left the Army, they moved to Springfield, MA in the early 50's, where Frank grew up with his three younger sisters.

Frank graduated from Lowell Tech in Lowell, MA, with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. It was at Lowell Tech that he met his wife on February 14, 1969. They married on September 12, 1970 and moved to Nashua NH, while Frank finished college. After college, he took a job with the NHDOT in 1972 and remained with them until he retired in 2007. After purchasing land in Deerfield, they built a house and moved into Deerfield, NH in 1974, where they raised their family of three children, with many loved dogs and cats.

Frank enjoyed the outdoors and was active in the Northwood Crank Pullers Snowmobile Club, the Kinnicum Fish and Game Club and BSA Troop 138 (where his son became an Eagle Scout) attending weekly meetings, camping trips and events. He also helped out at Rochester Sports Center for friends.

He enjoyed going snowmobiling, hunting and going north, just to hang out at a friend's camp. The family took road trips to Disney World, Virginia, Pennsylvania and other sights. He was fond of building tree houses with the kids and bookcases for the house. He also took pleasure in attending skiing with the kids school group and took them to other skiing locations as well. He enjoyed cooking at home, particularly the family tradition of Polish pierogis for Christmas Eve and opening the house to family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Michele (Kolinski) Bauer, son Scott with wife Tiffany (Kenneally), and their children Ethan and Enola; daughter Christine (Bauer) with husband John Steman, and their children Anna and Cyrus; daughter Rebecca Bauer of Deerfield, NH and her dogs, Chloe, Charlie and Cora who absolutely loved Frank.

He is also survived by sisters: Theresa (Bauer) with husband Christopher and their daughter Isabelle of Glen Ellyn, IL and Michelle (Bauer) and husband John Grasso and their children Joshua, Zachary, Matthew and Luke of Wilbraham, MA; and his brother-in-law, A.C. Kolinski of Dunbarton, NH.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Barbara Bauer Howley.

Calling Hours will be at The Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway, Epsom NH on Thursday, February 22nd from 5 to 7 P.M. A family burial will be in the spring. Michele, Becca and family.
I really wish for you peace and solace.
I only wish I had something other than I'm sorry. Those words express shallowness for me.
Be you and just live the best you can. Crying is good, not wanting to be with people is okay. My heart felt wishes are rather simple. You can't see in the distance unless your focused on what stands in front.
I'm a phone call away.
We are a safe place since my husband went 2 in a half ago.
We love you.
