Jakob Lange Obituary

Jakob Murray Lange, 24, was born Jan. 14, 1989, in Concord, and died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, in Fort Worth, Texas, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Jakob was a graduate of Southwest HS in Ft Worth and the University of North Texas. Jakob is remembered for his creativity, love of music, zest for life, and his kindness and loyalty to friends who understood his unique sense of humor. During his early years in Concord, Jakob joyfully participated in many sports, arts programs and Children's Theater Project productions. He will continue making a difference in the lives of others as an organ donor.

Jakob is survived by his beloved Rachel Albright and her family, Kathryn, Jon and Maddie; his mother, Mary Riddell Deal of Concord; father, Erwin Lange and his wife Marianne of Bow; brothers, Benjamin and Paul Lange; sister, Corinne and brothers, Zachary and Connor Rossignol; and numerous family members and friends who became extended family.

Donations in Jakob's memory may be made to the Community Players of Concord, communityplayersofconcord.org; to the Concord SPCA, concordspca.org; or to the charity of your choice.

A service of celebration remembering the wonderful life of Jakob was held at Arlington Heights United Methodist Church in Ft. Worth on Feb. 12. A memorial service will be held in Concord at a future date.

Jakob, I'm so glad to have been part of the beginning of your involvement in, and love of, the arts. Who knows what you could have accomplished had you not left so early... I'm quite certain it would have been spectacular ❤ Much love to your family as they process this difficult day. Love you, Mary ❤❤❤

I had a dream Jake was alive.
All of his friends were there.
We were celebrating his funeral, but he was the star of the show.
There were hundreds of people.
There was a competition shop that they all worked at
But at times it was full of desks like a classroom.
And at times it was full of video games.
Everyone was eventually outside, and there was a big screen.
It was projecting Jake's life for everyone.
Everyone was in a really good mood.
Jake was really hard to keep up with that day.
His other friends kept trying to lead me to where he was.
But it was so difficult to find him.
At one point in everything I was in a contest.
We sat on the front row of the outside progression.
There were two other competitors, a girl and a guy I think.
I don't know who won, but I eventually left to find Jake.
I still could not find him, even though everyone kept saying he had just been everywhere I was checking.
This was the largest part of the dream, me disoriented and looking for Jake with people I didn't really know.
Eventually, though, I did find him.
Jake was sitting Indian style with some of his friends.
We were not in a gym, but in a room that size with wood floors.
I came up to him and that's the first time it hit me.
I asked him how this was happening.
He was dead.
We had already had a funeral for him,
And this whole thing, this event, felt like a funeral,
But everyone knew he was alive.
I asked how was this all possible.
I remember actually feeling elated then, but really nervous for his answer.
He smiled his cheeky smile at me and then my cell phone ringing woke me up.

Hello Lange Family. This is Mark Moore. You guys were a second family really to me for a number of years. From Hockey, nerf gun and watergun fights, and seeing HMS Pinafore to computer games it was a joy to meet Ben and then be invited into your home. I have no words that could convey my nor your feelings at this time. I can say I remember all the good times my brothers and I had with all of you. I think back to those days on a regular basis. Jacob being the youngest always wanted to join in and us being older would grudgingly say "okay." It didnt matter how much smaller he was, he would run out soaking us with a watergun and get drenched back just like Big brothers and their friends are supposed to do. He always had some funny comment or face that would get us cracking up. One night after staying over for hockey practice I moved around in my sleep and layed on the floor that was kind of on a slant on the first floor and woke u[ early with the WORST headache I had ever had. Then of course to hockey practice. we got back and were hanging out. Me and ben were play TIE Fighter the old PC game and I mentined my headache. Jake asked why I had it and I started explaining how the floor was tilted, blood rushed to my head..yadda yadda. He cuts me off, says "Well everyone know not to do that, geeez". Ben laughed, and I just got burned my a 6 or 7 y/o. That's the Jake I remember. He was young but a part of one of the smartest, kindest, funny familys I have ever known. My life is better for havign been a part of yours if only for a little while. Take care Lange family. [email protected]

Mary, Ben, Paul, and Ernie,

I am so saddened by Jakob's sudden departure from our lives, and hope that you know that there are many who share your sorrow. Many people love Jakob and will hold their memories of him in their hearts.

Know that you are loved as well, and that you have a vast number of people from whom you can draw support.

I am sure that he is watching over you all as you grapple with his loss.

Much love, Ursula and family

Dear Mary & Family,

I am writing this letter to express deep sorrow for your loss.

I knew Jakob trough all the stories you have told me and his achievements, for a very long time and shall always remember him. He was the most kindhearted son to you. In fact, I shall always be thankful to God for the loving son that he blessed you with. I feel that your loss is a loss to all the people who knew him.

Civilization is a place where men rise and fall like the winter wheat. The dawn brings new rays every day yet there are some people who rise every day and bring to life, cherished memories, teachings and faith that help us sail the journey of life.

May God bless his soul and complete all his wishes.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and we are sharing the burden of this great grief. May God bless you.

May God bless Jakob's soul.

With love and sympathy,
Amar, Celia, Amina.

Dear Dr. Deal & Family:
While the loss of a loved one is never easy, even when anticipated, it is most certainly the hardest when they are taken from us too soon. Your recent loss of your son who has left us at such a youthful age is certainly in the category of those hard losses for which there is so painful a reminder of what might have been.
We offer our sincere condolence and deepest sympathy on your loss. May the outpouring of sympathy, the kind acts of friends and strangers and the confort in knowing that your loss is felt by many, help you through this difficult time.
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this tragic time. May you find the courage and strength to move forward in peace and confidence and in knowing that his was a life well-lived.
