Joyce Marie (Alix) (Henderson) Chagnon, of Henniker, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2024. She was born on June 2, 1940, in Meriden, Connecticut, to John and Mary (Despres) Alix.
Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald L. Chagnon, Sr., who passed away on March 12, 1994. She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Tammy Fortier of Concord, Jill Henderson of Henniker, and John Henderson and his wife Althea of Franklin. Joyce's legacy also includes eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister Beverly Langlais of Henniker and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joyce dedicated much of her professional life to SAU 24 until her retirement in July 1999. In her free time, she found joy in NASCAR racing, traveling to new places, shopping for treasures, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
A celebration of Joyce's life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at The Nook Diner located at 83 Henniker Street in Hillsboro, New Hampshire. Friends and family are invited to gather from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A committal service will take place in the spring.
Joyce will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort and peace to those she leaves behind.

I have loved you Joyce since I was a little girl. I know you are up in heaven now, really hard to believe. But you are at peace with all the family we have lost. I love you and always will miss you. You had the most loving family, proud to say they are also mine.
