Kenneth Bouchard Obituary

PORTSMOUTH – Kenneth George Bouchard, 72, of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, surrounded by loving family and friends and the caring staff at Evolve Senior Living in Rye, after living with Alzheimer's disease for many years. Despite the challenges of living with Alzheimer's, Ken's strong drive and determination carried through to his last breath, and he never let his disease define his life. He was a warrior while on this journey and helped thousands of people in the Alzheimer's community.

Ken was the adoring husband of Brenda Bouchard; loving and proud father of his four children: Lara DuBois and her husband, Stephen, Jeremy Bouchard, Zachary Bouchard and his wife, Katie Mae Simpson and Briana Bouchard; fun-loving Pop of Molly and Samantha Dubois, Sawyer and Sasha Bouchard and Maple and Asher Bouchard-Simpson; little brother of Paula Mason and her husband, Nathan; jokester brother-in-law of Mary Bouchard and Laurie Bouchard; adoring son-in-law of Cecile Balevre; supportive brother(-in-law) of Sally Pantaliere and her husband, Richie; close mentor to Tyler Drinkwater and several nieces, nephews and cousins; devoted son of the late Paul J. and Mary (Palmisciano) Bouchard; little brother of the late Robert, Daniel and Paul Bouchard.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the celebration honoring Ken on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel, 250 Market St., Portsmouth. Casual attire – Ken's preferred style.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts in memory of Kenneth Bouchard be sent to the Alzheimer's Association MA/NH Chapter. Donations can be made online alzmass.org/spirit/ or checks can be sent to The Alzheimer's Association, 166 S River Road #210, Bedford NH 03110.

Dear Brenda
I came to learn of Ken's passing while discussing another case that Peter Knight and I are assisting Ken's office with. Ken was a brilliant lawyer and his battle with Alzheimer was difficult to see. After he had stepped down at the office we spoke briefly as I was riding my bike past your home and Ken was at the mail box that day. That conversation has always stayed with me missing the man I knew when he was well. My condolences to you and your daughter, his imprint on all of us who new Ken will last.

Dearest Brenda,
I just recently learned of Ken's passing. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Ken is at peace now. Not sure if you remember me? I was a former Board member for The Alzheimers Assoc. and a caregiver for my husband Mike.

I met Ken in the 1970's when he moved to Canterbury, NH. A wonderful man with a sincere will to always help others in any way he could. He served well on many Boards during his residency and made many friends, some lifelong. RIP, my friend. You will be missed by many.

Sad to hear of Ken's passing. I had many dealings with him as an employee of the Devine, Millimet firm. He was a gentleman. May he RIP.

Brenda, I am so sorry to read about Ken's passing. He is a warrior and a champion. It is not how long we live but how well we live.
And most of all did we make a difference. He did - so now we pick up and carry on until a cure is found. God Bless you and your family.
