Kenneth McKenna Obituary

CONCORD – Ken McKenna did not survive a fall from a roof he was working on and passed away as a result of his injuries late Tuesday morning on August 28. Ken was 51 and born in Concord, N.H., in 1966.

He grew up in the north end White's Park area where he attended Concord High School graduating in 1983.

He is survived by his loving parents Francis and Jacquelyn McKenna who also reside in Concord. His devoted daughter Joslyn McKenna of Loudon, N.H., along with her two boys Noah age 4 and Mason age 3.

Also by his two brothers, Kevin of New Hampton, N.H., and Keith of New Fields, N.H., as well as one niece and two nephews Ryan, Logan and Erin.

After leaving high school Ken worked early in his career as a manager at Demoulas grocers, later he got into the building trades with a local construction company and close family friends where he excelled at all phases of exterior construction and was a jobsite foreman.

Ken, or "Skinny" as most friends new him was a life long sports fan. Playing youth and adult ice hockey, men's league softball and participating fanatically in fantasy football. Always a competitor in everything he did.

The most important things in life to Ken were family and friends. A devoted dad to his daughter Joslyn, bringing her everywhere and everywhere he went throughout her growing up. Spending much time visiting and supporting his parents and vacationing, camping and traveling with his brothers. Over time Ken developed a large network of friends that truly were like a second family to him.

Ken especially loved animals, doting on and spoiling his Labrador retriever that literally was his shadow. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace little brother.

"As long as one and one are two. There could never be a father who loved their daughter more than I love you."

There will be a service and remembrance held on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 3 to 7 p.m.n at the Waters Funeral Home 50 South Main St., Concord.

The McKenna family would also like to invite all friends and family to a gathering in Ken's name and spirit at the Kimball Jenkins carriage house hall on Saturday, Sept. 8, for some food, memories and a toast to our loved one.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

As the 7th anniversary of these two's passing approaches, the memories of that terrible 5 day span (Skinny 8/28/18, Mooch 9/2/18) for our circle of friends still punches me in the gut. These two guys - so full of fun and life - gone in an instant. You are both missed tremendously and we will never forget you.

Kenny,

You won't remember me but I won't forget you. Thank you for teaching me the art and finesse of a wrist shot. I was way younger and way smaller than you but you still went out of your way to help out the little kid living across School Street from you with his hockey skills.

Thank you,
Kuffer

My deepest sympathies on your loss. It is so hard to lose a brother, son, and father. Kenny was always a great guy with a really wonderful sense of humor. Over the years, I would run into him in Concord and he was always happy to see me and wanted to know how Ryan, his nephew, was doing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
