Lois Soderstrom Obituary

Lois Soderstrom

Rockledge, FL - Lois M. Soderstrom, 80, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025.

Born March 13, 1945 in Newport, NH, Lois graduated from high school there before moving to Concord, where she worked over a decade as a bank teller at Concord Savings Bank. She married the love of her life, Donald Soderstrom (recently deceased), and they shared 54 wonderful years together.

In 1982, they moved to Merritt Island, FL, where Lois worked as an administrative assistant in the aerospace industry until 2003. She and Don also enjoyed many successful years in standardbred horse racing. Later living in DeLand, FL, Lois worked in the Volusia County School System until retiring in 2009.

After moving back to Merritt Island in 2012, Lois volunteered in the media center at R.L. Stevenson Elementary School, happy to spend time near her grandchildren. She loved gardening and was known for reviving any plant. Lois also volunteered with her church's knitting group, making blankets for hospitals and nursing homes.

Lois is survived by her daughter Arianne (Oscar); grandchildren Oscar and Sarah; sisters Deborah and Margaret; brother Herbert "Sonny"; brother-in-law Everett; nieces Amy and Lara; nephews Lyle and Mark; and her beloved dog Fonzi.

She will be laid to rest with Don at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord. Donations may be made to William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay, FL.
