Raised in rural Newport, NH she graduated high school and made her way to Concord where she worked mostly as a bank teller at Concord Savings Bank, serving for over a decade. In this time period Lois married the love of her life, Donald Soderstrom (recently deceased), and was a devoted wife for 54 years. In 1982, Don and Lois moved to Merritt Island, Florida, where Lois began a career as an administrative assistant in the aerospace industry until 2003. She also fully supported Don's passion for standardbred horse racing, and together they built many successful years in the sport. They later relocated to DeLand, Florida, where Lois worked in the Volusia County School System as a teaching and media center assistant for many years before fully retiring in 2009 and moving to Orlando to be closer to family.Lois and Don retired from horse racing in 2010 and moved back to Merritt Island in 2012 to remain close to their loved ones. Always wanting to stay active, she volunteered in the media center at RL Stevenson Elementary School, enjoying the chance to stay busy and spend time near her grandchildren. Lois had a true green thumb. She loved to garden and was known as the one who could revive any plant brought to her. She also volunteered in a knitting group at her church, knitting blankets for hospitals and nursing homes. Lois is survived by her loving daughter Arianne and son-in-law Oscar; her treasured grandchildren Oscar and Sarah; her sisters Deborah and Margaret; her brother Herbert "Sonny"; her brother-in-law Everett; her nieces Amy and Lara; her nephews Lyle and Mark; and her beloved dog, Fonzi. She will be laid to rest with her husband Donald at Blossom Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lois's memory to the William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida.
Lois will be deeply missed and forever loved.
