Lois Truchon Obituary

Lois (Ames) Truchon, 89, of Concord passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, after a long period of failing health.

Born to Stanley and Elizabeth Ames on Aug. 17, 1927, in Rockland, Mass., Lois excelled in school, graduating early and going on to nurses training at Margaret Pillsbury Nursing School. She became an RN and spent much of her career in Private Duty.

Lois married Ernest Truchon on May 28, 1948. They had four children and were married for 52 years when Ernie died in October 2000.

Her love of sweets and seafood was well known. She also enjoyed animals, going to the water, selling Avon, and knitting. She spent much of her spare time doing word puzzles and knitting baby hats that she donated to Concord Hospital and mittens for any other group that asked for them.

She rarely missed an occasion to remember family and friends with greeting cards.

Lois was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Phyllis Branzetti (California) and Anne Brown (Massachusetts).

She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Pratt Taylor (husband, Tom) of San Antonio; her children, Lynn Truchon of Concord, Lee Truchon (wife, Carol) of Maynard, Mass., Linda Truchon-Lucier (husband, Dwayne Lucier) of Hopkinton and Lisa Woods (husband, Jon) of Concord.

She is also survived by three step-children, Ernest A. "Bud" Truchon (wife, Freda) of Concord, Priscilla Bartlett also of Concord and Paul Robert Truchon (wife, Janice) of Bakersfield, Calif. She leaves dozens of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in her name to any local animal shelter, family, or veterans' charities will be greatly appreciated.

A memorial open house will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Horseshoe Pond Place, 26 Commercial St., Concord, with a brief service starting at 2 p.m.
