Margaret H. "Peggy" Cotter

Concord, NH - Margaret H. "Peggy" Cotter, age 98, of Princeton Street passed away on May 30th at Concord Hospital.

Margaret was born November 9, 1926 in Keene, NH, the daughter of the late Robert H. and Gertrude E. (Allman) Henry. She attended St. Bernard Catholic School and was a graduate of Keene High School. She worked as a secretary for many years at NH Business Development Corporation, a private corporation organized to stimulate the economy in New Hampshire. She later worked for Upton and Hatfield as a legal secretary, retiring from the firm at the age of 70.

She was a devout member of Christ the King Parish and a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America. For many years she was a volunteer usher at the Capital Center for the Arts and also at the NHTI Library. She was an active 4-H leader when her children were young.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Leonard J. Cotter who passed away in 1966; her brothers James, Robert, Charles and Francis Henry; sisters, Mildred Hill, Edna Wichland, Gertrude Rousseau, and Joyce Miller; and her granddaughter Gina Skibicki.

She is survived by her 6 children; son, M. Stephen Cotter of Concord, daughters, Joyce Cotter and her husband Arnold Englander of Concord, Margaret Roby of Concord, Kathleeen Smith and her husband James of Boscawen, Mary Evans of Concord, and Leslie Skibicki and her husband Glenn of Loudon; 7 grandchildren, Shawn, Jocelyn, Matthew and Andrew Roby, Jake and Austin Evans, and Alina Skibicki; and 4 great grandchildren, Audriana and Elise Roby, Jennifer Roby, and Tyler Deschaines.

In addition, she leaves many loving nieces and nephews, including devoted niece Ann Cotter of Concord, as well as dozens of great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will not be held.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 19th at 10 AM at Christ the King Parish, 72 South Main Street, Concord, followed by a gathering in the parish hall.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 20th, at 11 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery in Keene.

The Waters Funeral Home in Concord has the honor of assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Granite VNA, 30 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301, or to a charity of your choice.
