Martha Ruddy Obituary

Martha A. Ruddy

Concord, NH — Martha A. Ruddy age 87 died Monday January 10 at Concord Hospital after a period of declining health. She was born in Concord, daughter of the late Leonard and Alice (Merrill) Hill. Martha was a graduate of Concord High School, and as a young woman worked for Metropolitan Life for several years before staying home to raise her family.

She was a fanatical New England sports fan and enjoyed rooting for all the local teams. She was an avid gardener, loved playing cards and being at the beach was her special place. She mostly loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Richard E. Ruddy who died in 1997, and her sister Mary Hill.

She is survived by her three children; Thomas Ruddy, Susan Morrison and her husband Joseph, Matthew Ruddy, grandchildren; Richard Ruddy and his wife Kathryn, Kimberly O'Donnell and her husband Tim, Hannah Knoll and her husband Peter, Zachary Ruddy, Billy Taylor, one sister; Judith Foy and her husband Albert, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Martha's life will be held on Thursday January 20 at 11AM at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main St. Concord.

Burial will follow at the Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord.

I miss Martha, she was a great neighbor. Always nice, smiling, and waving to me when I'd pass by her sliding window on the first floor of our apartments. She will remain a memorable member of our community.
