Mary Lou, I think of you frequently. You told me that you had used the Sunday Bible school left over paper as part of your compost. I laugh and put plain white paper(used of course) into my compost pile in place of wood. I also still have the Iris you gave me and the raspberry bushes. The raspberries are the tastiest and the Iris are slowly being eaten by some type of rodent. I always loved talking to you for your wise words. I do miss you

Mary Lou was a Kick! She took a bunch of old religious paper tracts and started a compost pile! I do not know how to compost paper but ML did! She got me into composting yard wastes and occasionally I put in a paper tower soaking wet with vegetable wastes. Wonder what her secret was! The raspberry bushes she gave me are particularly sweet this year, what with the abundant rain and enough sunny warm days! Thank you Mary Lou!

Knowing and now remembering Mary Lou Kelly are a blessing to me as I know it is for her children and grandchildren. Following her lead as you can will make her life mean even more.

I met Mary Lou late in both of our lives when she joined the League of Women Voters and she was someone I admired tremendously. I never knew much about her earlier life until now. She was so involved in her communities before living in Concord, still wanting to learn and be active in support of women and our needs. Her strength and thoughtfulness were a true gift.

I am growing Mary Lou Kelly's raspberries. They are tasty. I also have some of her iris! She sure loved to garden and I am keeping up her hobby. She was a wonderful and generous person. She is thought of frequently and will be missed.
