Michael T. Vezina

1930 - 2017

PENACOOK – Michael T. Vezina, 86, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at Presidential Oaks in Concord surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Penacook in the late fall of 1930 to Eugene and Laudina (LeBlanc) Vezina.  Mike grew up in Penacook attending the local schools and the Penacook High School with the class of 1949.

After school Mike entered the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War.  Mike returned home to Penacook and worked at Brezner Tannery for 14 years and he started working for RIVCO, the Riverside Millwork Company in 1961.  Mike started there as a laborer and retired as a supervisor in 1993 after 32 years of dedicated service.  He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church where he volunteered many hours over his life time.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #31, and the Benevolent Order of the Elk, Mike was also very active in the Penacook Senior Center as well as being on a bowling team with some of his friends in the Boutwells Senior Bowling League in Concord.  He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed playing golf and spend time outdoors in the gardens he and his wife Betty would plant.

Mike is predeceased by his parents as well as two brothers, Leon Vezina and Alphage Vezina; five sisters, Theresa Angwin, Aurora Whitney, Helen Spain, Joan Cook and Florence Cantara;  Mike is survived by the love of his life of 63 years, Betty (Lindsey) Vezina of Penacook; two daughters, Kathryn Vezina and her husband, Douglas Moore of Portland, Maine and Joanne Fullerton and her husband, Ronald of Woodsville; his son, Peter Vezina and his wife, Elizabeth of Weare; his grandchildren, Peter and Jennifer Fullerton, Emily Denz and Robert, Andrew Fullerton and Ethan Vezina; and a great-granddaughter, Maggie Fadden.  He is also survived by one sister, Anita Stolte of Penacook as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 9 Bonney St., Penacook, followed by a luncheon in the church hall.

Internment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
