Dear Shirley, Barbara S and Barbara D: Thank you for your beautiful expressions of sympathy for my mother. I'm glad my returned note with the Round Robin got to everyone. She saved all her RRs and I have then safely, in storage at the moment. We miss her. Although she was 91 her time for peace came unexpectedly but with no suffering which is the best. My thanks and love to all her Round Robin friends, Love Valnere Mclean (daughter)

Once or twice a year, my mother and I would drive from Pittsfield, ME to meet Patricia and "Red" at McDonald's in Rumford. It was about the same drive for them as for us. There we would sit for some hours and eat, drink tea, and talk poetry. We did this for several years. In addition to these times together, Patrica and I shared many long long letters to do with poetry. I still have many of these. She was a real inspiration to me, and I thoroughly enjoyed knowing her. She was a true lady, and a wonderful poet. I enjoyed Red as well!
