Raymond Auprey Obituary

PENACOOK – Richard J. Auprey, 85, died on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the CRVNA Hospice House in Concord surrounded by family. He was born in Concord in the summer of 1932 to Raymond Auprey, Sr. and Melvina (Hull) Auprey and has been a lifelong resident of Penacook.

Growing up in Penacook Richard attended the local schools. He worked at the Brezner Tannery for 35 years until 1984 when the company closed and moved its operation. Richard then went to work for Merrimack Valley High School where he was a Custodian for eleven years before retiring in 1995. Richard was a Roman Catholic and a communicant at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Concord. When he was younger Richard loved camping and traveling around New England which included his visits to the White Mountains. In the most recent years, he enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and visiting with family & friends.

Richard was predeceased by his wife, Vera Rousseau Auprey in 1998; his companion of 17 years, Elvena Thibodeau; a daughter, Darlene Jacobs; a great-grandson, Nicholas; a sister, Ruthie Christie; two brothers, Edward Auprey and Raymond Auprey, Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Patty Auprey of Concord; the daughter of his companion, Jill Cantara of Northfield; his grandchildren, Shawn Jeffery, Cynthia Wiley, Rebecca Blackburn and Nathan Jacobs. Roxanne, Debi, and Barbie Rousseau; his great-grandchildren Megan, Justin, Ashlyne, Austin, Chelsea, Mariah, and Noah; his great-great grandchildren Savannah, Maddox, and Callie; two sisters, Melanie Brundell and Rita Thorton; two brothers, Robert Auprey and Paul Auprey; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside funeral service will take place on the morning of Wednesday July 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Calvary Cemetery in Penacook. The Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home in Penacook is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Concord Regional VNA Hospice House, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, N.H. 03301.

So sad to hear of Mr. Aupreys passing. I still remember him finding me in the barn and shoo me out saying don't want you getting hurt now. also miss seeing him go for his walk around town...My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
