Ruth Lyons Obituary
Goffstown, NH — Ruth (Burlingame) Lyons passed away on November 28, 2021 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home. She was born on June 12, 1927 in Manchester, NH. The daughter of Parker W. and Bernadette (Gagnon) Burlingame. A graduate of St Joseph's High School for Girls, Class of 1946, she was a resident of Goffstown, NH for over 70 years. Ruth worked at Howe's Pharmacy, Goffstown, NH for over 22 years, volunteered at the Palace Theater, Meals On Wheels and the VA Hospital and was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, New Boston Chapter. She was a member of the Goffstown Police Department's Auxiliary for many years.
Ruth was an active member of St Lawrence Church Goffstown, NH for over 70 years. She is predeceased by her husband, Kendrick F Lyons as well as her sister Pauline Kamradt and brother William Burlingame. She has one remaining brother, Robert Burlingame of Weare, NH. She leaves a daughter, Linda McAllister and her husband Fred (deceased) of Concord, NH and a son, Kevin Lyons and his wife, Linda of Goffstown, NH., five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.
The family would like to sincerely thank the many caring, giving and supportive staff of the Hillsborough County Nursing Home, especially the A-2 unit. Also a heartful thank you to the Home Health and Hospice Care staff who went above and beyond to help our mother.
Private funeral services will take place at St Lawrence's Catholic Church, Goffstown, NH with a burial service at St Joseph's Cemetery, Bedford, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made either to the Goffstown Police Association Relief Fund or the Hillsborough County Nursing Home, A-2 for support of their activities. Kevin & Linda: I went to search for your mom's address so I could send her a Christmas card. Instead, I was very, very sad to see her obituary. Please know that she was one of the kindest, most caring, helpful, sweet, and positive person I ever met. She was one of my mom's caregivers for a long time & my mom and our family loved your mom. My sister, Bev, and I often talked about taking your mom out to lunch and I regret we never did. I thought about her frequently & every time I'd be in Goffstown. A couple weeks ago, Bob & I went to take pictures of the old Jr. and Sr. high schools so we could send them to our grandsons. I was telling Bob your mom was living in the old HS building. Such fond & loving memories of your dear mom. We are so sorry for you and please accept our deepest sympathy Joanne & Bob Hale
