NASHUA - Shirley R. (Wigrizer) Cohen, 81, of Nashua died at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua Monday, June 13, 2011.
She was born in Lawrence, Mass., October 14, 1929, a daughter of the late Morris A. and Jennie (Tatelman) Wigrizer.
She was the widow of Jordan D. Cohen of Nashua, who died January 10, 2009. She married him on March 7, 1948 and they shared 61 years of marriage.
Mrs. Cohen was active in assisting her husband in his business, the former Jordan's Luggage Shops, Inc. in Nashua and Jordan Realty Corporation.
She was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1949. She also attended Nashua Business College.
She was a member of Temple Beth Abraham in Nashua and Hadassah.
She is survived by her beloved three children and their spouses, Alan Cohen and wife Sandra of Concord, Randy Cohen and wife Marlene of Nashua, and Wendy Cliggott and husband Bill of Medford, Mass.; her beloved grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and wife Lisa, Jon and wife Kelly, Jessica and husband John, Jamie, Molly, Joe, and Lizzy; her great grandchildren, Ryan and Dalia; her sister Harriet Weiner and her husband Burton of Florida, her brother, Leon Wigrizer and his wife Devora of Philadelphia, Penn.; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanton Cohen and wife Barbara of Boynton Beach, Fla.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at Temple Beth Abraham, 4 Raymond Street, Nashua. Rabbi Jonathan Spira-Savett will officiate. Friends are invited to attend.
Interment prayers and burial will follow in Beth Abraham Cemetery, Nashua.
Memorial Week will be observed at Mrs. Cohen's late home, 16 Edson Street, Nashua, Wednesday, June 15, 2011 with minyan at 7 p.m., and Thursday, June 16, 2011 with minyan at 7 p.m.
