Steven Vachon Obituary

Steven J. Vachon, 62, of Memory Lane died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at Concord Hospital.

He was born in Portland, Maine, on Sept. 27, 1953. He was the son of Patricia Pelletier of Concord and the late John Vachon and was a graduate of Concord High School, Class of 1971.

Steve was a successful flooring businessman, owning his own business, JJ's Carpets, until his retirement this past June. He was a master of his craft. He was an avid motorcyclist and snowmobiler. He coached the local baseball teams for many years. He enjoyed camping and golfing. He always had a kind word and always looked on the bright side of life.

Steve was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Debbie Vachon, in 2005.

In addition to his mother, he leaves behind one son, Jay Vachon of Indianapolis; and his daughter Stacey Vachon of Concord; his two grandchildren Taylor Rose and Noah Vachon. He is also survived by his fiancée, Michelle Mankiewicz, and her children, Jeffrey and Rebecca; his sister Judith Mathison and nephew John Mathison; and many friends and loved ones.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Waters Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Donovan Odell will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice House, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord 03302.
