Valerie Watterson

1958 - 2017

Valerie (Aiken) Watterson, 58, of Concord, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at Bedford Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, after a period of declining health.

Born in Concord, on Nov. 6, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Ervin Aiken and Violet (Moses) Bruillard.

Valerie resided in the Concord area for many years and graduated from Pembroke Academy.

She spent many years as a homemaker.

Valerie leaves a rich legacy of love, compassion, kindness, generosity, and faith.  Her family was the center of her life. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and word search games. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Family members include her daughter, Sadie Watterson of Florida; six grandchildren; two sisters, Theresa Currier and her husband, William, of Florida and Linda Morreale and her husband, Edward, of Laconia; a brother, Alan Aiken and his wife, Jennifer, of Belmont; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, including her dear cousin, Kimberly Michael. She was predeceased by her daughter, Vanessa Watterson who died in 2012.

The family wishes to express its gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Bedford Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, who not only gave her wonderful care, but also showed affection and friendship to her as well.

Following cremation, a graveside memorial service with urn burial will take place Saturday, June 10, at 10 a.m. in Soucook Cemetery, Concord.
