Virginia Garfield Obituary

HILL – Virginia "Ginny" A. Garfield, 65, of Frost Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at home after lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Haverhill, Mass. the daughter of Ernest and Barbara (Perkins) Britton and was raised by her mother, Barbara and stepfather Francis Hall. Ginny grew up in Chesterfield and Goffstown and later moved to Tilton and finally in Hill since 1975.

Ginny lived her life as caregiver to many. At a young age, she helped to raise her five siblings. After her marriage to Bruce Garfield, she became a stay at home mom and gave her heart and soul to her husband and two children. In time, Ginny provided care to her grandson and to many other children as a profession. At age 60, she became an LNA. She loved caring for her patients who meant the world to her.

Though truly talented artistically, working in many mediums, painting, ceramics, braided rugs, sewing, knitting and gardening, her true passion was cooking and baking. She had special hands, like no others. She considered York Beach, Maine as her special place. Enjoying summers there for over 30 years where she walked the beach as well as sitting and reading under her tree. It was truly her serenity.

She enjoyed her involvement as a member of the Bristol United Church of Christ and the Woman's Association.

Family includes her husband of 46 years, Bruce Garfield of Hill; a daughter, Kimberly Henry of Hill; son, Eric Garfield of SanDiego; grandson, Myles Keyser of Hill; brothers, David Hall of Greenfield, Mass., Martin Hall of Westmoreland and Daniel Hall of W. Buxton, Maine; sisters, Laurie Wyman of Wake Forrest, N.C. and Kathy Lawson of Westmoreland; and lifelong best friend, Patricia Vigue of E. Andover.

There will be a memorial service, Monday, October 27, at 11 a.m. at the Bristol United Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Newfound Area Nursing Association-Hospice Program, 214 Lake St., Bristol, NH 03222.

Bruce, Kim, Eric, and Garfield Family,
Ginny was such a sweet loving woman. I will always remember growing up with her & considering her as another Mom to me. I can still hear her laughing and telling Eric and Kris to be careful on those bikes and with that way she would just say "oh Bruce"... always with a smile but you knew what she meant :-)
John and I are so sorry for your loss. Words cannot take away any of the pain you all have, but please know that so many people have you close in our hearts and prayers. Ginny is at rest now, flying with the Angels. May she rest in Peace and may you all know how much she and all of you are loved.

For Ginny....God has taken you now, to be with him in heaven. As deeply saddened as our hearts may be, we know you are in a better place, where pain and fear are of no consequence. You are finally at peace.

Your whole life...your whole existence, was spent in always helping others. We will never forget you, dear friend. You'll remain in our hearts forever. You are with God now. Rest in Peace.
