Buck Owens Obituary
Buck Owens (Ronald Wade Owens, Jr.), 56, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 3, 2025. Buck was born in Savannah, Georgia, and was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Ricker Roller, brother, Kevin Crawford, and grandparents, Leo Owens, Robert and Ruby Ricker. Buck was the centerpiece of Owens Contracting, he was loved and admired by everyone who worked with him. He loved God and his family (especially his grandson). Buck was a devoted family man who loved God, his loved ones, and the great outdoors. His life was a testament to his passion for adventure, his deep love for his family, and his generous spirit. He found his greatest joy on the water, spending countless hours fishing in the Lowcountry rivers, Steinhatchee, and at Lake Santee Cooper. Hunting was another of his great passions, especially when it meant taking his boys on unforgettable trips-bird hunting in South America, deer hunting in Missouri, and prairie dog hunting in South Dakota. He was a proud member of the Po Boy Hunting Club in Reidsville, where he formed lifelong friendships. Buck shared a love of travel with his beloved wife, exploring places like Yellowstone, Maine, and South Dakota. They frequently camped in Georgia's beautiful state parks, creating memories around campfires and under the stars. A talented and passionate cook, Buck never missed an opportunity to share a meal with those he loved. Whether catering birthdays, weddings, family reunions, or any gathering that called for good food, he brought people together through his love of cooking. His love for music was just as strong, especially old country legends like Gene Watson and Asleep at the Wheel. He enjoyed attending concerts at the Grand Ole Opry, where the melodies of classic country filled his soul. Buck's legacy of love, adventure, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of sharing in his life. Survivors include his wife, Kimberly H.
