Chong Im Newcomer Obituary

Chong Im Kim Newcomer, 70, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at her home with her husband by her side. She was born in Buyeo, Korea to the late Chung Bae Kim and Kum Ye (Anna) Kim.

Chong was a hairdresser in Savannah for over 20 years and made many lifelong friendships.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kelly Newcomer of Savannah, son and daughter-in-law, David and Missy Newcomer of Charlotte, NC, nieces and nephews, Sumi, Yumi, Jay, Lynn, Seong Tae, Yong Tae, Yeon Tae, Hyeon Tae, and Yun Tae, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews in Korea and Canada.

Per her wishes, a private graveside service will be held in Beaufort National Cemetery.

What a sad loss. Chong had such a beautiful soul. She was my hairdresser for over many years and we thought of her as a friend. We will miss her!
