Mrs. E. LaWanda Ransom peacefully entered eternal rest on August 8, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her devoted family. Born on July 16, 1958, LaWanda's life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, and service. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose heart and home were always open.

While she dedicated more than 40 years as an educator and administrator in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS), her greatest joy was found in her family. She often said she wanted to be remembered for her love of family and for her passion for learning-both secular and Christian. Her faith in Christ was the foundation of her life, guiding her words, actions, and care for others.

LaWanda's warm and nurturing spirit extended beyond her home into the lives of countless students, teachers, and colleagues. She believed in the potential of every child and led with grace, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose. Her mentorship, encouragement, and tireless commitment to education touched generations and left an indelible mark on her community.
