April 30, 1945, to February 22, 2025

Guyton – Edward Lamar Howell (79) will be laid to rest at 2 pm on February 24, 2025, with a grave side service at Corinth Baptist Church.

Lamar was born in Lucedale, Mississippi and moved to Effingham County, Georgia with his family when he was two years old. He graduated from Effingham County High School in 1963.

He is preceded in death by his parents Wilton Hollis Howell and Ruth Fairley Howell and eldest brother Willie LaGlade Howell.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Martha Edwards Howell. Children Melissa Nease (Herbert), Tonya Hester (Jimmy), Dana Waller (Pistol), and Edward Edler.

Six grandchildren, Six great- grandchildren, a brother Gwen Howell as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.

Remembrances may be given to Ogeechee Area Hospice.
