John Frederick Olson

1933 - 2015

John Frederick Olson, 82, of Orland, CA passed away on September 18, 2015. He was born to John Kent Olson and Sara Frances (Harris) Olson on May 15, 1933, in Manila, Daggett County, Utah. He was the third of eight children. He married Darlene Rhoades on January 22, 1953 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple in Utah. They lived in Provo for a few years, then in Concord, CA where they stayed until 1969, when they moved to Orland, CA where they've been for 46 years. Not only has Fred Olson owned a successful business, he's supported the community as an employer and a loyal friend.

Fred is survived by his wife of 62 years, Darlene, 10 of his 12 children and their spouses, 52 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren.

Fred had a large capacity for learning, and loved to share what he knew with his family and friends. What he knew best was the gospel of Jesus Christ, to whom he was completely devoted. His testimony will live on on infinitely in those with whom he shared it; Fred inspired goodness, and we loved him for it.

An open house to the public will be held Friday, September 25, 2015 from 4pm-7pm and Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 8am-10 am at the LDS Chapel at 125 Modoc Street Orland, CA.
