Ivan Casey Obituary

Ivan G. Casey "Together Again"

COSHOCTON: Ivan G. Casey age 93, of South 16th Street, Coshocton, passed away Tuesday at Windsor Wood Place.

Ivan was born on August 21, 1921 in Clark Township in Coshocton County to the late W. Vernon and Vesta (Madison) Casey. He was a 1939 Keene High School graduate and a Coyne Electrical School graduate in Chicago, Illinois. Ivan married the love of his life, Carol Evelyn Emerson, on July 3, 1948.

He retired from Johnson's Plumbing and Heating Company after many years of service. Ivan was a WWII United States Army Veteran having honorably served in the ETO 26th Calvary Reconnaissance Troop. His troop saw action in France, Luxemburg, Belgium, Germany, Czechoslovakia and Austria. Ivan's valor in action earned him the Bronze Star Medal. Ivan's memberships include, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #495, Park United Methodist Church of Coshocton, Masonic Lodge #96 F & AM. American Legion and the former V.F.W. Post 2040.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Evelyn Casey who passed away on March 5, 2003; five brothers and four sisters.

Ivan is survived by his son, Craig (Vicki Laudick) Casey of Coshocton; granddaughter, Sara Barnett; grandson, Brad (Samolia) Casey of Coshocton; step grandchildren Adam Laudick, Amanda (Dustin) Klein and Garret Laudick all of Coshocton; six great grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; brother, Terence (Doris) Casey; sister, Lucy Wells; and his loving friends Diane and Jim West of Coshocton.

Funeral services celebrating Ivan's life will be held Saturday January 17, 2015, at 1:00 PM at the Given-Dawson Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Warren officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at Given-Dawson Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette with the Veterans Council of Coshocton County providing Military Honors.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Park Avenue United Methodist Church or Hospice of Coshocton.
