Capt. Waldo Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Capt. Albigence, "Al" Lamar Waldo II will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Conroe, 600 N. Main Street, Conroe, Texas. A time of visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 East White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas.

Al Waldo was born on August 15, 1938 in Atlanta, Ga. He went home to the Lord on January 30, 2024.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Childers Waldo; son, Jeff Waldo and wife, Shelley; son, John Waldo and wife, Terresa; daughter, Jennifer Waldo and wife, Kay Macias; stepchildren, Mickey Childers and wife, Kristy; Danny Childers and wife, Kim; Kelly Sklar; Traci Stork; and Vicki McShan and husband, Scott; granddaughter, Amanda Waldo; grandson, John-Ronald Waldo; grandson, Weston Waldo and wife, Hanna; grandson, Skyler Waldo and wife, Brooke; great-granddaughters, Harley and Jane; and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col. William Slaton Waldo; his mother, Ruby Geneva Wilson Waldo, his first wife, Carolyn Clark Waldo; sister, Charlotte Waldo Sisk; half-sister, Bonnie Bird Waldo Coxwell; and half-brother, William Slaton Waldo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, support.kidney.org, or First Baptist Church Conroe, fbcconroe.org.
