James Duncan Obituary

Brother, husband, dad, grandfather, and proud veteran left his earthly body on June 26, 2023, at 3:30 A.M. James was born in Montgomery, Texas, on November 13, 1945, to Clarence Clinton (C. C.) Duncan and Annie Lou Matchett Duncan. He was married to Wanda Lee Duncan for 22 loving years. James worked for Houston Light and Power for 30 years before retiring.

James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wanda Lee Duncan, brothers William Duncan, Clinton Clarence Duncan, and Roy Gene Duncan; sisters one unnamed and Barbara Joyce Purvis; Son Christopher; grandson Scotty.

He is survived by his brothers Billy Ray Duncan and wife Esther and Donald Earl Duncan and wife Saundra; Son Troy Ray Duncan and wife Diana; daughters Allyson Farmer and husband James, Sandy, and Hope; grandchildren Rebecca Downey, Shaley Turner, Hayden Turner, Katie Duncan, Meagan Duncan, Austin Farmer, Holly, Joey, Justin, and Bradley; great granddaughter Jade Downey and numerous nieces and nephews.

James served in the US Army as a Combat Medic Specialist E4 during the Vietnam War. Due to his bravery, he was awarded an Army Commendation medal. After his retirement from Houston Light and Power, he became a proud member of the Lone Star Honor Flight Veteran Group. There he was able to help keep other veteran's memories alive.

A Celebration of Life service will be at Longmire Road Church of Christ, 200 Longmire Road Conroe, Texas 77304 at 11 AM July 15, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to: American Legion Post 411PO Box 974
