Brian Aylesworth, born Dec. 13, 1959, lived a great life that unexpectedly ended on May 1, 2021.
He was a captain at the Russellville Fire Department where he served for 25 years.
He loved tinkering with projects and playing card games with his children. He was a proud father who enjoyed watching his kids play sports as they grew up, and as adults he was his kids' best friend.
His wife was his favorite travel companion. They enjoyed taking nighttime cruises on their boat and traveling the country.
Brian's number-one priority was spending quality time with his loved ones and occasionally showing off some entertaining dance moves and witty humor. His heart was full of kindness, he was honest to a fault, and everyone knew him as an incredibly intelligent man – some even called him "doctor."
He could fix anything through his self-taught handyman skills. He was unabashedly himself, had a helping heart and was optimistic through his final day. He took pride in his work, his family and was known for his great acts of service to anyone and everyone in need.
He truly practiced the teachings of Christ through action, not just words. He regularly attended Fellowship of Christians in Russellville.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Aylesworth.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Aylesworth; children, Drew Aylesworth (Abby), Christa Loyd (Jon) and Ethan Aylesworth; siblings, Gena Sparks and Andy Aylesworth; and parents Bill and Martha Aylesworth.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Humphrey Funeral Home.
A family directed memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at City Church.
Cremation arrangements are by J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center and Humphrey Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arkansas Fallen Firefighters Fund; or to the family at https://gofundme.me/f33e144a or by searching his name on the GoFundMe website.
