Juanita Taylor, age 95 of Dover, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024. She was born March 28, 1929, in Dover, to James and Marybelle Griffin.
Juanita was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In addition to her many other wonderful qualities, Juanita was also a passionate gardener, traveler and adventurer. She loved exploring new places and meeting new people. She was always helping others, and she had a heart of gold. Her children cherish the memory of their mother's daring spirit, as she sledded down the tallest hill on Landers Loop Road on her stomach in the middle of the night after an ice storm. It was a testament to her adventurous spirit and her love of life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Taylor; son, Russell Taylor; brothers, JC Griffin and Donald Griffin; and a sister, Loretta Rosel.
She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including her daughters, Cheryl (Pat) Johnson, Vicki (Phil) Lamb and Belinda Barber; a son, Kenneth (Lisa) Taylor; her sister, Marcella Joseph; brother, Joe (Garry) Griffin; sister-in-law, Betty Griffin; brother-in-law, Phil Rosel; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2024, at Dover First Baptist church with the Rev. Sandy Taylor and Dr. Jeff Paxton officiating. Burial will be in Phoenix Cemetery on Buck Mountain under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
