In loving memory of Mastin L. Ford, a devoted husband, father and cherished member of the community, who peacefully departed to join his Lord and Savior on December 23, 2023, at his home in Dardanelle with his loving wife of 56 years, Cynthia Ford, by his side.
Born on July 15, 1934, in Moriarty, New Mexico, to Marvin Lewis and Johnnie Forrester Ford, Mastin's journey through life was marked by unwavering dedication and service. A proud member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dardanelle, he found solace and community in his faith. Mastin dedicated 24 years of his professional life to the Arkansas Highway Department in Russellville.
Additionally, he served 23 years with the Army National Guard in Dardanelle. A distinguished United States Army Veteran, Mastin's service took him to various locations, including Washington, Kansas, and Missouri, before deploying to Germany, where he faithfully served until his honorable discharge in 1958.
In recognition of his selfless service, the Daughters of the American Revolution presented Mastin with a Quilt of Valor in November 2023, a testament to the profound impact he made in the Armed Services.
Mastin leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Ford; his brother, Dean Ford of Ola; and two sons, Mastin Lee Ford (Teresa) of Perryville and Lewis Dean Ford (Jennifer) of Leeds, Maine. His memory lives on through six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and cherished friends, Cathy Baker, Angie Madison and Hilda Passmore.
Preceded in death by his parents, Mastin's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 2 p.m., at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle, officiated by the Rev. Kelly Pearson and under the compassionate direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
