Mikel Ray Brown, age 77, of Russellville died Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born May 26, 1946, in Pasadena, California to John Wesley and Thelma Pelfrey Brown.
He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Vietnam Era, a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, a past Master of the Russellville Masonic Lodge No. 274 and a member in both the Scottish and York Rite. For over 35 years he practiced chiropractic medicine in Russellville. He graduated from Arkansas Tech University and Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Malinda Brown; a son, Mikel Jason Brown of Russellville; a sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Bobby Musgrove of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Tanner and Haley Wright and Ashlee Wright, all of Dover; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Atticus O'Brien officiating. Burial will be private in Coop Prairie Cemetery in Mansfield and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Masonic rites to be provided by Russellville Lodge 274 and military funeral honors to be provided by the United States Army.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-6 p.m., at the funeral home.
