Patricia Ann Crabtree (Pat), age 85 of Russellville, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born June 22, 1938, in Ellsworth, Iowa to the late Jalmer Stensland and Edna Swenson Stensland. She graduated high school in Grundy Center, Iowa and eventually moved to Webster City, Iowa and worked at Morton's Frozen Foods. It was there she met her husband Ed Crabtree. They were married in 1965 and later that year welcomed the birth of their son Donnie.
In 1968 they moved to Russellville as the Morton's Plant relocated there. In 1970, they purchased their longtime home in Dardanelle where Pat lived until moving to Russellville in 2013. She retired from Con Agra Foods in 2000 after working for Morton's/ Del Monte/ Con Agra a combined 35 years.
Pat attended the Dardanelle Methodist Church, was a long time member of the Eagles Lodge in Russellville where she volunteered for many fundraising projects after retirement. Pat was a proud Norwegian and made two trips to Norway to visit her relatives there. She loved spending time with her son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many friends she made in her 85 years.
In addition to her parents; Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Crabtree; sisters, Joan Peterson, Shirley Jones; brother, Mervin Stensland; sisters-in-law, Nancy Stensland, Deanna Stensland and brothers-in-law, Bill Thayer, Donald Crabtree, Delmar Crabtree, Darryl Crabtree, and Leroy Jones.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Sondra Crabtree; Brothers, Orlin Stensland, Wally Stensland, Roger Stensland (Carol); sister, Margit Abshier (Pete); grandchildren, Amber Kochen, Tess Casto (Mitchell), Jonathan Wear (Mackenzie), Hallie Wear; great grandchildren, Mason Skelton, Kayson Casto, Lainey Wear, Lola Casto; sisters-in-law, Roma Jean Thayer, Ann Crabtree, Barbara Stensland; brother-in-law, John Peterson and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her many friends who helped care for her in a variety of ways the last few years.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Bro. Jim Benfer officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, 1-2 p.m. at the chapel prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Dardanelle Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
